Welcome to Ben Makes Movies!
My name is Ben Mallahan – I’m an aspiring film writer/director, and a huge geek to boot. This site is the hub for all of my YouTube shorts and other film projects, as well as the home of my personal blog. I don’t try to fit my blog into any sort of niche – I generally just talk/rant about whatever is on my mind, which occasionally includes any new video that I’m releasing.
I’m 27 years old and I currently live in Seattle Washington with my amazing wife of three years, Becca. I grew up in the small town of Blaine Washington and attended college at Gonzaga University in Spokane, which is where I then began my film production career. After a recent two year stint living and working in Los Angeles, I’m glad to finally be back home in Washington. The only thing greater than my love for the Pacific Northwest is my disdain for Southern California!
I am always happy to answer any technical or creative questions related to video production, and if time permits (and the project is right) I may be available for freelance gigs. While this site features the videos that I make just for fun, I also have extensive professional production experience and an ever-growing portfolio of commercial, corporate and entertainment work.
